There was a fella here yesterday that has been a primary school teacher for years and always has his class read "Farmer Boy", the book about Almanzo. Naturally, I thought that was quite astute of him :) I wonder what I would have thought of the book if I had read it at a young age. One set of parents said they came because their son got tickets as a birthday present from his girlfriend and he recommended it to them. I asked him how old his son was....29! I love it! See, even dudes can enjoy this show, hah!
I've been blessed with a life of unexpected twists and turns, and most importantly, wonderful people. This is my chance to share, reflect, and celebrate! Waahoo!

If YOU BUILD IT....
Well, the people came and went.....and they seem to like it so far! :) The show definitely feels different than our run last summer, but in a good way. It is wonderful to see all the little girls in the audience dressed up in their prairie dresses and bonnets. They are SO CUTE! And most of their mothers grew up watching the show, so they are extremely excited to see Melissa Gilbert. It really is amazing how far her influence has reached. The TV show and books have touched upon something pure and innocent that pervades humanity. It seems there are only wonderful memories attached to the Little House name.

Good evening!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your blog-entry, I want to say some words...
Things like music, films or books connect people. They connect the souls and unite hearts. Particularly the things from the childhood coin you! You see a serie, listen to a song or read a book, which fully and completely touches you. You identify with it. You find yourself in this. You never forget this - NEVER!!
And how beautiful it must be to be able to see and experience this story as a musical in changed form on stage!
If I could, then I would see also "Ich heirate eine Familie" as a musical! This serie has characterized my childhood namely and alone the thought on it gives me a smile into the face! :)
It is excellent that you wake so many child hearts and make them happy with the musical!
I am very much pleased, that everything is working so well with the show!
You do really good work - I am convinced of it! ;)
Have a nice evening, Julia
I only can say again: Julia, I have the same opinion like you!
ReplyDeleteI think too, it's great that you make people happy with the musical. Kids and adults.
And it's really great to read, what you are doing in America and how all is going on there!
Thank you for that.
Have a great week greetings Kerstin
I just can say the same things... it´s wonderful how culture can connect people.
ReplyDeleteThank´s for sharing :-)
Speaking about culture: I just won a one week trip to Tenerife on a tourism roadtrip about Gran Canaria - jeehaa!
Greetings,
Franka
Girls, I totally agree with you!! Isn´t it the same with us all and Tarzan...we all know each other - and you Kevin - only from this one show - and we all got friends - even if we don´t know each other personally...isn´t it great???!!!
ReplyDeleteMusic and theatre bring people together and connect them for a life!!!
That were my philosophical words for today :-)
Kevin...I´ll keep my fingers crossed, that all shows go on so great like the shows until now!!! And we would all LOVE to see the little house here, too!!! So maybe one time...!!
Take care, have a great week!
Hugs Sonja
