A Day to imPRESS!

The picture above is Laura & Almanzo (Kara Lindsay & Me). Can you tell which is which? :)

On our last day of rehearsal in NYC, we invited the press to watch us perform a couple of our musical numbers and then we gathered for photos and interviews in the next room. Days like this make a lot of people nervous :) But it is a great opportunity to advertise your show and hopefully give people an idea of all the work we've been doing. Prairie has had a fairly long journey to get to this point, and we've put a lot of sweat into it's making. So we hope people enjoy the end product!

Press day can fool you...at least for a second...into thinking that you are a movie star! :) You walk down the line of cameras and they all shout, "look this way" "over here" "one more"...(flash flash flash)..."one more this way" (flash).....and then it's over and they all move on. ha! We get a little extra attention as a show because Melissa Gilbert is attached. It's pretty cool to watch her in these situations, because she's fairly used to the attention and press. In a sense, it really is part of her job. While we get glimpses of the flashing bulbs in the "theater world" during opening nights, press events, fundraisers....it truly pales in comparison to Hollywood. I may prefer it that way....hehehe.

  1. Thank you for all the nice pictures.

I didn`t know, that Melissa Gilbert play the leading part. I know them as Laura Ingalls from the TV Series. It is funny, that she now play the "Ma" Ingalls :).

    Best wishes Anke

  2. They call themselves Hollywood stars and of the public become they described as sizes of the film, theater or music industry - Kevin Spacey, Kevin Costner or Kevin Bacon.
But I tell you something - someone like KEVIN MASSEY is dearer to us despite everything. :)
It doesn't matter on the degree of the fame, on the income or the titles in the press.
It depends on you as a person and on your talent. And even if these Hollywood stars have earned the highest respect, you have earned this for your work and your music at least just the same. :)

And at the next Germany visit you will experience a flash-fountain, that you won't able to see the forest before flashlights! ;)

    Great flash-results!!! :)

  4. Hey Kevin,
I can tell which is which! :P

You surely didn´t mean you, when you spoke about nervous people, did you!? :)

I believe that it must be exiting at a press night and although your not a "movie star", you´re our "musical star" and it´s great to find pictures from you and your show in the web.

By the way, the link didn´t work when I tried it, so I just tried www.broadwayworld.com and searched for little house on the prairie, that worked!
    Nice pictures!

Kerstin, you don´t know Melissa Gilbert???
She played Laura Ingalls in the TV Show (Kevin´s future wife *g*) and in the Musical she plays "Ma" (Kevin´s future mother-in-law).
Isn´t that odd, Kevin? I mean, you know Melissa running down the meadow with two braids in the hair, don´t you? :))

    So, have a nice day!
    Kirsten*
