New York City is really amazing. It's so crowded everywhere you go. I was taking an innocent nap in the park and next thing I know, someone is popping up out of the ground RIGHT NEXT to me. RUDE! I hope the person didn't mind me snoring on them a bit :)
The picture is from an outdoor sculpture park in upstate New York called Storm King. It was a HOT day, but I managed to find a little rest in this shade.
The script for Prairie is frozen!!!...for the time being. This allows us to continue fine tuning what we have without worrying about constant changes. If we were always in a state of flux, it's possible to miss some good things that might actually work. It will also give us a chance to run the show a couple of times before we go into tech (technical rehearsals were we move to the real stage, add light and sound cues, costumes, etc.). It's also our last week working in NYC, so I'm trying to savor it. Though the theater in New Jersey is a short drive, it is much more of a hassle because of the infamous NYC traffic.
The NY Times will be there tomorrow...I better put on some extra rouge :)
Hi Kevin!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, you still look a little pale around your nose. Thanks for the photos!
Yes,the traffic in N.Y.is crazy. It's always better and faster to go by tube, but I don't like the underground either.Sometimes strange people are hanging around.
So,good luck for you PR-Date with the NY Times, rouge is a good idea!!!
And...one more info for you(whisper in your ear, pssst!)Today is Julias Birthday,I'm very sure, she would be so happy to receive a birthday greeting from you.
Have a good day,take care,
Tonia
Hey Kevin!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your message. I've never been to New York, but I think it must be great there! I like your pictures, they are really funny!
And yes, today it's Julia's Birthday. I hope she will have a great day!!
Have a good day greetings Kerstin
"New York, to that tall skyline I come
ReplyDeleteFlying in from London to your door
New York, looking down on Central Park
Where they say you should not wander after dark
New York, like a scene from all those movies
But you're real enough for me
But there's a heart
A heart that lives in New York"
That´s a song from Simon and Garfunkel or the first two verses. I love that song and had to think about it, when I read your blog.
I have to admit that Tonia is right, you look a little "cheesy" (käsig) but it´s good to see that you´re better.
The pictures are fun and the person doesen´t look like he´s annoyed by your snoring.... :)
So, I hope you´ve got the rest you needed so that you can do the final spurt before the tour starts!
Take care, Kirsten*
By the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY my dearest Julschi,
I´m so glad that we meet through Tarzan.
You´ll be in my heart!!!
Hola Kevin!
ReplyDeleteComo estas? No hay una paella más? *g*
Thank you again for the lines... well, in comparison with the guy lying next to you: you really look a little bit cheesy :-)
The Central Park seems to be very beautiful, well, due to the information I got from TV, articles etc... NY is a destination I always wants to go to one day.
Good luck for the time, which follows.
Franka
Such places are quite important in the weekday!
ReplyDeleteHectic, loudness and stress are everywhere. There you need a place at which you can retire. At which you can get some peace.
Only silly if exact this quiet is disturbed! ;)
I can imagine that the pressure and the excitement grows into you all. The little house at the prairie begins already next week! Because of this it is quite important that you learn elude yourself and to enjoy some moments of the silence and quiet. This gives you strength!!! :)
Give once again the full power at the last rehearsals-week!
Greetings, Julia
Btw: Thank you all for the Birthday-Greetings! :)
Thanks Kevin for your thoughts and the pictures! Pictures of New York always look great...I hope, I´ll make it one day to go there...I was supposed to go there on september 13th 2001...unfortunately, some crazy people thought to destroy the WTC two days before...so its still a dream to go there...
ReplyDeleteHope you are well again and you have a not so stressful last week before you start with the little house of prairie...I´ll keep my fingers crossed four you and the rest of the cast..!!!
Thanks for your free time you give us always by writing the blog!!
Take care, talk soon!!!!
Sonja
