Today we ran the first act with all the new changes. It's amazing how far away the first act felt since we had been spending so much time recently on the second act. But, I suppose it is half our show...so we must! We had some producers come to watch, so there was a little nervous energy in the air. I can't imagine the task of pleasing every single one of the producers (and we have MANY in this show). You just hope everyone is striving for the good of the show, first and foremost.
My new song in the 2nd act is now lengthened...for the time being. We needed a little more "umph". Laura has a newer song as well which made us change the final duet. You see, everything is connected! Then, they ask us to give it a try right away. You don't even get a chance to memorize it and all of the sudden your whooshing around the stage singing a new song. Sometimes you just repeat the only words you know over and over again to the tune :) They don't expect it to be perfect at that moment but just need to see if the new idea works. That is true "live theater!".
Hi Kevin!
ReplyDeleteWow,from 0 to 100!That must have been difficult singing a song different immediately. But as you said, that's "live".Or as I would say it's some kind of "Stand up"-Theatre.But as far as I know you, that was just another challenge for you, wasn't it?
And poisened by food? That sounds awful!Especially in case of Chicken or Fish, that's worst of all.
But I'm quite certain, you don't even want to think about it any more,am I right?
In any case,I'm glad to hear, that you feeling better!
Best wishes,
Tonia
Hi Kevin,
ReplyDeleteoh dear a food poisoning, that is bad news and I hope you`re felling better.
Its sounds interesting, what you tell us from the show. It is easy to forget that a lot of work has gone into this, when you watch the show on the stage, so I thank you for your explanation.
I wish you all the best in the coming month.
Anke :-)
Oh a food poisoning! Hopefully you are fine now. Like Anke already sais, it sounds very interesting what you are telling us about the show.
ReplyDeleteWish you good luck for it furthermore!
Outch, food poisoning- not good. I had that once. (with lamb meat)
ReplyDeleteThat is not really a kind of "foot art".
A good Paella you only can find in Spain itself. You should better stick to Nutella with Banana :p
However, I´m glad that you are ok.
Bad weeds grow tall. ;-)
All the best for further reheasals.
Franka
P.S. thanks for the whishes due to my spider performance... I should think it over
Thanks for your thoughts everyone. I had solid food today, so the stomach is on a roll :)
ReplyDeleteHey Kevin!
ReplyDeleteThe last days were a little stressful for me. But now all skilled works are written and I am a free person!
Free from all thoughts about coercive marriage, anti-aggressiveness-trainings or "Vensterscholen" in the Netherlands - the social work has a wide spectrum! ;)
Good feeling, if you have finished with everything and can hand in to the assistant professor. :)
Therefore I had also not the slightest time to read your Blog! With a food poisoning it isn't really to joke. I hope that you are well again and you have recovered well.
You should slowly get in the final spurt with the rehearsals, or not? Next week begin the little house on the prairie-tour, or I am mistaken?!
I wish you good luck.
Have a beautiful, restful and stress-free Sunday!
Julia
